4-H PYD Academy on Youth Mental Health – Share Your Expertise!
Call for breakout session proposals!
Due: April 1, 2021
The 2022 Virtual 4-H Academy on Youth Mental Health is intended to increase the capacity of 4-H professionals to support youth and their mental health through Positive Youth Development (PYD) programs. The academy will provide cutting edge information on the state of youth mental health, help attendees understand a PYD response to this crisis, learn about the unique mental health needs of particular youth populations, hear from youth about how 4-H has supported their mental health during the pandemic, and build capacity for effective approaches for supporting youth during this time.
We invite you to submit a proposal to lead a 90-minute session at the virtual conference that contributes to the overarching goal of supporting youth mental health in the practice of positive youth development. Each day will specifically focus on one of the identified goals below:
• May 10th: A shared understanding: The current landscape of youth mental health
• May 11th: Developing a PYD approach to youth mental health
• May 12th: Building capacity of 4-H volunteers to support youth mental health
As youth mental health is so strongly connected to issues involving diversity, equity, and inclusion, please ensure your proposal clearly describes how your session supports equity and inclusion efforts. In exchange for your preparation and delivery of a high quality session to build participants’ professional competency, we are delighted to be able to offer a $500 honorarium for each session. In order to receive payment speakers will need to complete a W9 and provide information for ACH payment. Honorariums are payable, after services are rendered, to either the individual or their respective organization.
Please provide responses to each question by April 1, 2022
Proposal selection will be announced by April 18, 2022
